EARTH DAY 2020
Earth Day was established in 1970 and has become the world’s largest secular holiday. Earth Day founder and then Senator, Gaylord Nelson, proposed the idea in response to the increasing air pollution caused by heavy industrialization. In collaboration with other political leaders, environmental organizations and students, they hosted the first Earth Day along with 20 million Americans who took to the streets to show their support.
Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. In celebration of this historic event, the Utah Sustainable Business Coalition has partnered with Lt. Governor Cox in support of a healthy and sustainable future for all. Over the past couple months we’ve faced unprecedented challenges but also wanted to remind everyone of the good that’s come from the strong, sustainable community in which we live.
